The World Hellenic Biomedical Association has launched the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Research Training Program in Clinical & Experimental Medicine to train outstanding medical graduates of Greek universities, who will be applying for residency programs in the United States of America. Funding from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation will support up to 10 program trainees over the two-year pilot phase of the program, as well as their participation in the WHBA summer program. Upon successful establishment, the program will be expanded to the European Union, Canada and Australia.
Medical graduates of Greek universities will be matched with one of the following tracks:
  • Clinical track – 3 months clinical training (clinical observership) in a medical center.
  • Basic Science track – 12-months basic science training in a laboratory.
  • Translational Medicine track - Combined basic science and clinical training in a laboratory and clinic of similar field. The duration will be 3 months for the clinical training and 1 year for the laboratory training.
