Trainee  responsibilities
and mentoring

Fellows' Responsibilities
1) Carry out the research project or the clinical training under the guidance of the preceptor and clinical advisor;
2) Attend sessions and seminars organized within the hosting institute;
3) Present  research data in laboratory or other meetings, including during the annual Retreat of the Fellows;
4) Attend regional and annual meeting upon request of their preceptors;
5) Work with their mentor and the mentoring committee to establish specific research and career goals and provide timelines for them;
6) Use the designation "Stavros Niarchos Foundation RTP-CEM Fellow of the WHBA" in all written and electronic professional communications, Curriculum Vitae, websites and scientific conferences;
7) Provide evaluation of the RTP-CEM within 2 months following completion of the training period.

Mentoring committee
The scientific committee will assign each Fellow to a mentoring committee consisting of two faculty other than the host.
The mentoring committee will have phone or video conference with the Fellow at the following time points of the training period:

Clinical track (3 months)
Within the first month after beginning of the training
End of training (3 months)
 
Basic sciences track (12 months)
Within the first month after beginning of the training
6 months
End of training (12 months)
 
The mentoring committee will be discussing with the fellow the following aspects:
1) The Fellow’s progress during training.
2) The smooth operation of the training program and potential pitfalls or conflicts that need to be addressed,
3) Future career planning.
 
The Fellow may request extra meetings with the mentoring committee if there is a need for discussion of urgent matters.
